Student mental health struggles are growing. According to the CDC, 1 in 3 high school students had persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness in 2019. That’s up 40% since 2009.
The challenges for students are indisputable. And they haven’t gotten easier during the pandemic. Adolescence is a time to build foundations for life, so it’s important to address mental health issues now.
Students are often hesitant to discuss the problems they face. And it can be challenging for parents as well.
So, where do they turn?
We’re excited to announce that we now offer REAL Student Counseling as a worksite benefit. REAL Student Counseling serves middle and high school students. It’s on-demand counseling that helps students work through a wide range of behavioral health needs.
Each session is safe, secure, and private. The consultations are tracked and provide detailed reporting. Students will have the support to work through stress, anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, and other mental health challenges.
Getting started is easy. Students log in with their student ID. Each personalized sessions take place virtually on mobile devices, so getting help is convenient.
We believe REAL Student Counseling can have a tremendous positive impact on the mental health crisis.
